HIGHLIGHTS FROM DAY 1 AT LFS CONCLAVE 2018: COLLABORATE. CURATE. IMAGINE.

It was a power-packed day at Taj Land End, Mumbai with some of the biggest names in Luxury, Fashion and Style coming together to talk about the the existing ecosystem while sharing some interesting insights with the students as well as emerging talents.


Packed to a full-house, Day 1 at LFS Conclave saw some thought-provoking panels with talks ranging from the need for collaboration to future trends and forecasting as well as investor perspective on fashion businesses. The students left the venue with a lot of interesting points to ponder over. The Sundowner gave them a fun opportunity to interact with the panelists one on one and gather some more wisdom while the panelists addressed their doubts and apprehensions regarding the industry and what it has to offer.


Panelists like Brigitte Bae, Head Visual Merchandiser at Valentino, Nandita Mahtani, Designer and Stylist, Ace photographer Vickram Bawa and International Make-up Artist Akgun offered some inspiring insights into the fashion world and shared anecdotes from their shoots to inspire students to pursue different disciplines in fashion other than design.



Retail Fashion Expert and co-founder at Fashion Roundtable UK, Bev Malik moderated a panel on one of the most essential aspect of Fashion; styling and imagery that has now grown to be a lucrative career opportunity for young students all over the world. She spoke to the likes of Sanjana Batra, Celebrity stylist and Avinash Gowarekar, noted Celebrity Photographer discussing the roles and responsibilities of each individual and the impact it has on creating successful imagery for Fashion and Luxury brands worldwide.



The Design. Curate. Sell. panel saw the leading ladies of Indian Fashion interact on the ethos of a brand and the underlying essentials of the fashion and retail business. From Pernia Qureshi, Founder of Pernia's Pop-up to Woolmark Prize winner Ruchika Sachdeva of Bodice, the panel also had noted fashion designer Urvashi Kaur as well as Azmina Rahimtoola, Founder of Atosa.



There's nothing more we could ask for than have WGSN, the world's leading trend-forecasting authority give us a lowdown on how the process of defining and creating trends as designer and thought-leaders works. The talk was helmed by Mr. Puneet Dudeja, Sales Director, South-east Asia talking about people, trends and emotions that will rule global as well as Indian fashion in 2018.



The day ended with LFS AFTRHRS with Industry leaders & emerging talents mingling over cocktails and interacting with each other. What followed was a breezy evening of fashion, music and conversations with everyone enjoying the picturesque setting by the Arabian Sea.
